Artist Statement

George Robb has composed this series of photographs with the aim of connecting these two cities through the music industry. Both cities have an established music presence albeit Nashville on a world stage it does align with Belfast fast being associated with cultural routes entrenched in rhythm and musical traditional. George believes music has a power to connect instantly and give an experience of emotion in a real and meaningful way. It tells a story either in tempo or song. Photography also has this ability; it is immediate and allows us to observe a reality of familiarity. Through the composition of isolation and detail, as in these works he captures a perspective that has its own story to tell and communicates the influence of music, musician and tools of the trade.
